IV (Intravenous) Conscious Sedation uses safe, fast-acting medications delivered through a small IV line to help you feel completely at ease. You’ll stay conscious but relaxed — able to respond to simple instructions while we handle the rest. Unlike hospital general anesthesia, IV sedation does not put you fully to sleep and doesn’t require a breathing tube, making it safer and faster to recover from.

First, you’ll need to come in for a consult to ensure sedation is a good option for you. Sedation cannot be completed on the first visit. Once you’re scheduled, you will follow these steps:
Failure to follow these instructions may result in cancellation of your procedure — all sedation and extraction fees are nonrefundable within 48 hours of the appointment.
When you arrive, our team will review your health history and ensure you’re ready. Once the IV line is placed, you’ll begin to relax as your body eases into a calm, dream-like state. You’ll be continuously monitored by our team.
After the procedure, you should plan to rest for the remainder of the day and avoid driving, operating machinery, or making major decisions for 24 hours.

If IV sedation isn’t right for you, we also offer local anesthesia only — this numbs the area without sedation. Our office does not provide oral or general anesthesia but can coordinate a referral if needed.
